What to Expect

Centaurus Dance Team – What to expect!
Thank you for coming to try-outs! This team is a big commitment as our season is basically YEAR ROUND. Please review the following before you audition so that you know what you are signing up for and so that we know that you are ready for the challenge and the opportunity. Being a part of this team is INCREDIBLE, but it is a lot of hard work and nearly year-round practices. While we encourage other activities, please know that it isn’t possible to participate in another CHS Fall sport because of how busy our fall season is. It might be possible to participate in a winter sport (please talk with Coach), and team members will be able to participate in spring sports and activities.
Here is a basic outline of expectations for the team!
Basic expectations of dancers:
  1. Be to practice and all events on time and ready to work
  2. Be a good citizen – at your school, with your teammates, and in the community
  3. Leave negativity, judgement and gossip at the door
  4. Be performance ready – If you aren’t, you will be benched
  5. Trust your coaches
Basic expectations of parents:
  1. Support your dancers and dance team – enable their success!
  2. Trust and support your coaches
  3. Communicate, communicate, communicate! Here is my contact information:
phone: 303.913.6982, email: dancecoachchs@gmail.com
Coach’s promise:
  1. We promise to teach, guide and mentor our dancers to enable them to be not only great dancers, but outstanding people.
  2. We promise to support this team in all of its goals
  3. We promise to listen and communicate with dancers and parents
Additional stuff:
Regional competitions and workshops: We will plan to attend 2-3 regional competitions during the fall and possibly early winter. These are usually on Saturdays between November and January.
State: The Varsity team will compete at the CHSAA State Spirit Competition in December - date TBD (usually the first weekend in December).
Nationals: We would like to take the team to Nationals again this year if we can fundraise to support it!
